 ARCHITECTURAL HELP WANTED: PROJECT MANAGER

Soltner Group Architects is looking to fill a position for a Project Manager in early 2020.  We are a small professional firm located at the north end of Lake Union specializing in the analysis and repair of exterior building systems.  Our work is technically oriented and consists of both investigation and documentation of building conditions, as well as the design and oversight of repairs.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the industry, be well organized and technically proficient, have a strong understanding of building systems and components, and be able to work as a team player while leading the development of contract documents, coordinating consultants, writing specifications, provide construction administration, organizing the work, and providing assistance to the Principal Architect and Senior Architect.

This is a full-time, long-term position that offers a casual work environment, variety of duties, a great potential for knowledge gain and professional growth with excellent pay and benefits.  While we would prefer a candidate that possesses all of the attributes outlined below, we are willing to provide training to the right self-motivated, enthusiastic individual.

1    General Requirements
      A    Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Building Sciences
      B    Minimum 3-5 years industry experience, preferably with emphasis on technical aspects of construction.
            (1)    Experience with multi-family projects desired.
            (2)    Construction Management experience desired.
            (3)    Understanding of environmental factors and their affect on exterior systems and materials desired.
      C    Strong knowledge of Codes, Industry Standards, and building materials.
      D    Good organization, documentation, and technical writing skills.
      E    Mac-based systems experience desired.  Working knowledge of the following software applications preferred:
            (1)    Word
            (2)    Excel
            (3)    Sketch-Up
            (4)    Adobe InDesign
            (5)    Adobe Acrobat
            (6)    AutoCad or ArchiCad experience helpful
      F    Ability to work independently and provide leadership through building analysis and repairs.
      G    Ability to perform a variety of activities simultaneously on multiple projects. 
      H    Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to clients and provide clear direction to contractors.
      I    Ability to prioritize work activities and consistently meet deadlines.
      J    Physically healthy with ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, with no fear of heights.


2    Position Responsibilities
      A    Development of contract documents.
      B    Code, product, and document research.
      C    Contractor and consultant coordination including scheduling, writing Proposal Requests, reviewing estimates and invoices, and                    verification of services provided. 
      D    Field investigations and construction reviews including photography, field reports, and meeting minutes. 
      E    Organizing data including photographs, product information and project information.
      F    Report and specification writing.
      G    Assist in client support and coordination including proposal for services, scheduling, presentations and communication.


3    Benefits
      A   Salary $60,000 - $85,000 / year DOE
           (1)    Yearly reviews and increases based on performance
